Ingredients

  • 800 grams lamb (shoulder or leg, cut into chunks)
  • 2 medium onions, diced
  • 150 grams dried apricots, halved
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 500 milliliters chicken broth or water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Begin by preparing your ingredients: chop the lamb into chunks, dice the onion, and measure the apricots and spices.
  2. In a skillet, brown the lamb on all sides over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Transfer the browned lamb and onions to the crockpot.
  5. Add the dried apricots, cinnamon stick, ginger, cumin, and a pinch of salt and pepper to the crockpot.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth or water, then stir to combine all ingredients.
  7. Cover the crockpot and set it to low heat, cooking for 6-8 hours or until the lamb is tender.
