Sweet & Tangy Braised Red Cabbage in a Crockpot

Ingredients

  • 1 medium red cabbage
  • 2 medium apples
  • 120ml apple cider vinegar
  • 60g brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 240ml water

Instructions

  1. Chop 1 medium red cabbage into thin strips and place it in the crockpot.
  2. Peel and slice 2 medium apples, adding them to the cabbage.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together 120ml apple cider vinegar and 60g brown sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Pour the vinegar-sugar mixture over the cabbage and apples in the crockpot.
  5. Add 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and 240ml of water.
  6. Stir all the ingredients gently to combine.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until cabbage is tender.
  8. Once cooked, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary before serving.
